Customer Scenario: Domestic supplier had a need to contain leaks on Hydrogen Sulfide, DOT3AA2265 cylinders, that were dimensionally 9” dia. x 51” tall (without valve) containing 60 lbs. of product. The customer requested a test pressure of 400 psi and a kit with non-sparking tools. The kit was to address valve leaks only.

Solution: A cylinder capping kit based on the Chlorine Institute Emergency Kit-A design was developed made of non-sparking materials. The kit design was proposed with a list of materials of construction along with a 3D CAD illustration showing intended application. The kit hood was made of a solid slug of aircraft aluminum with a chain and base assembly of stainless steel. The custom emergency kit was successfully hydrostatically tested to over 400 psi and delivered with an instruction booklet and testing certificate.
